Weekly Macro Themes - 5 August 2022

Here's a brief overview of the topics and charts covered in the latest edition of the Weekly Macro Themes report. I send this report out late Friday NZ time and aim to cover a good mix of macro/ideas/risk topics, across a global macro/multi-asset universe.

This week I covered the following topics/ideas:

1. Global Growth Grumblings: Surveys showed clear slowing in global growth, and leading indicators point lower, with few (some) causes for optimism on the outlook for H2 and 2023 in particular. Sign up so you can check out the key charts we are looking at along with the important nuances...

2. Commodities & Inflation: review of the macro/technical outlook for commodity prices, along with a review of the inflation outlook (how they tie in with each other), and where to next for inflation vs disinflation vs deflation and so-on!

3. Credit Check: update on our indicators and models for credit spreads, where the risks vs opportunities lie, and whether we should be getting more optimistic (or otherwise)
